How to Get a Certificate and Badge for Yourself?
To become a Google Certified Android Developer, follow the steps below. You must first register for the examination and pay the examination fee. Let’s start at the beginning and work our way up.
1. Examine your abilities
The first step is to assess your own abilities. Whether or not you are prepared to take the exam. You can double-check it by consulting the official syllabus, which lists the topics that may be covered in the exam. If you are unsure about those topics, we recommend that you brush up on your knowledge.
Because there is only one exam attempt if you do not pass the first time, you must repay the entire exam fee in order to retake the exam. Please ensure that you have studied all of the topics and are familiar with those that you may be asked to implement in the exam.
2. Register for the exam
In this step, you must apply for the exam. Go to the Google Developer official website’s certification page. There will be a certification option for the Associate Android Developer program there. Click the signup and learn more buttons.
You will be redirected to another page with two options. One is for signing up with Kotlin, while the other is for signing up with Java.
Choose your preferred language, and then on the new page, you will see official exam instructions and a button to purchase the exam.
Clicking on that will take you to a new page where you must upload your ID proof and then pay the fee. The fee is $149.
ID proof can be your passport or driving license, and other documents, which vary by country, are also acceptable. You can check it out on Google’s official developer certification webpage. You have now successfully applied for the exam after successfully submitting the fee and identification proofs.
3. Take the Exam
After you apply, you will see a button to begin the exam. When you click that button, you will be given a project to import into an Android studio, as well as instructions on what you must do in that project. You will be instructed to add new features, debug the application, test it, and fix some bugs. There will be instructions on what you need to do in that application.
You must also complete the project within 8 hours of beginning the exam. Before beginning the exam, you must also install a custom plugin from an android studio called Google Developers Certification plugin. This will monitor your exam and automatically submit it 8 hours after it begins. So, finish the project on time.
4. Conduct the online interview
Following the successful submission of your project, you will be notified shortly whether or not you have qualified for this round. After qualifying, you will have an exit interview 30 minutes that will be conducted via Zoom. You will be asked basic questions about the projects you just finished in the previous round during the interview.
In addition, the questions may be based on fundamental programming and android concepts. Following the interview, you will be notified via email whether or not you have qualified for the online interview round. If you pass this round, you will become a Google Certified Associate Android Developer.
