Tips
- MetaMask allows unlimited accounts, but you can’t delete them. Name your accounts to remember their use.
- Having many accounts is a smart idea. Accounts, not identities, are used for Airdrops. A protocol airdrops money-valued tokens. UniSwap airdropped tokens worth thousands of dollars to users with several accounts.
- Create a new Twitter account for Airdrops. Revealing your public address is like sharing your home address—acceptable it’s with friends, but not on Twitter. Create a new account for airdrops.
- Immediately move missing tokens to a new wallet with a fresh seed phrase. Someone may find your seed phrase in a rubbish drawer, reload MetaMask, and send your funds to their wallet. Technically, you can’t reset the seed phrase. Your digital assets are at peril if you lose your seed phrase. You must create a new MetaMask Wallet and move your digital assets there immediately. This means two MetaMask Wallets.
- You can achieve this by using a second browser (Firefox vs. Chrome) or by using “profiles” if your browser supports them. You can open two MetaMask windows. After creating a new browser profile, install MetaMask and create a new wallet. From there, establish as many accounts as you desire, copy their addresses, and send out all your assets.
- Your Main Network tokens won’t appear on test networks. Test nets only have (worthless) test tokens. Don’t panic if you can’t find your ERC-20 tokens. Ensure you’re on Ethereum Main Network.
